Creamy Tahini, Ginger & Miso Dressing
This creamy tahini, ginger and miso dressing is ones of those recipes you'll find yourself making on repeat. Bursting with rich umami flavour, fresh ginger adds a warming zing, while garlic, tamari and sesame oil create a beautifully balanced Asian-inspired dressing that is both comforting and vibrant.
Not only is it incredibly delicious, but it's packed with nourishing ingredients too. Tahini provides healthy unsaturated fats, plant protein andmineralssuchas calcium and magnesium, while fresh ginger has long been valued for its anti-inflammatory properties and its ability to support healthy digestion. Miso is a fermented food that contributes depth of flavour and can help support a healthy gut microbiome, and sesame oil is rich in antioxidantcompounds.
Drizzle it over grain bowls, roasted vegetables, salads, noodles or grilled chicken and salmon, or use it as a dipping sauce for crunchy vegetables. It keeps well in the fridge for several days, making it the perfect meal-prep staple when you want to add a burst of flavour and nutrition to everyday meals.
INGREDIENTS
1/3 cup tahini paste
1 heaping Tbsp freshly peeled grated ginger
2 cloves finely minced garlic
2 tsp miso paste
1 Tbsp tamari
1 Tbsp brown rice vinegar
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp maple syrup
1/3 cup water
METHOD
Place all of the ingredients into a high-speed blender or food processor and blend until completely smooth and creamy.
If the dressing is thicker than you would like, add an extra splash of water, one tablespoon at a time, until it reaches your desired consistency.
Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed, adding a little more tamari for saltiness, maple syrup for sweetness, or rice vinegar for extra tang.
Transfer to a clean jar or airtight container and refrigerate until ready to use.
The dressing will keep well in the fridge for up to 5 days—simply give it a good stir or shake before serving if it thickens.
